About the Study

The Town of Paradise is evaluating roadway safety throughout the community with the goal of making the streets safer for everyone – whether they are walking, biking, or driving through the town. The Town identified 18 underdeveloped two-lane roadways as the focus of the study and will be identifying projects to improve safety along them. The town will develop designs and grant applications to seek funding to build the most promising projects.

The four steps of the project are detailed below.

Step 1. Crash Analysis: Analyze the Town’s crash trends and patterns as well as characteristics of the roadway to determine priority locations for safety improvements.

Step 2. Identify Countermeasures: Identify improvements and changes to the streets that will help reduce crashes for all road users.

Step 3. Develop Designs: For the most promising locations and sets of improvements, develop designs illustrating the changes and improvements to be made at each location or along a given street.

Step 4. Grant Applications: The final step of the study will be to develop grant applications for the most promising projects so the Town can construct the safety improvement projects.
